Patriotic Recipes to Celebrate American Freedom & Greatness

A Heartfelt 250-Year Celebration of American Independence

My Friends and Fellow Patriots,

As we gather around our tables, ranches, and backyards this Independence Day, my heart swells with a deep, abiding pride in being an American. Two hundred and fifty years ago, brave souls signed their names to a bold declaration that would light a fire of freedom heard around the world. From that moment in 1776, our nation began its extraordinary journey—one built on courage, faith, ingenuity, and the unshakeable belief that liberty is a God-given right worth defending. From our humble beginnings as 13 colonies to the 50 united states we cherish today, our country has grown stronger and more resilient.

Here on our West Texas ranch, where the wide-open skies stretch forever and the American flag waves proudly from the front porch, I feel that history in my bones. We are a country of dreamers and doers, of ordinary folks who accomplish extraordinary things through grit, innovation, and neighborly kindness.

Our greatness isn’t just in towering achievements or historic milestones. It’s in the everyday miracles we live: families coming together over backyard barbecues, veterans who taught us the true meaning of sacrifice, service, and love for our country, communities that rally together in tough times, and the simple joy of raising the next generation on these values. It’s in the freedom to worship, to speak our minds, to build a life on our own land, and to protect ourselves and those we love in the way we see fit. In a world that sometimes feels divided, I make a choice to focus on what unites us: our shared love for this beautiful, resilient land and the principles that make it exceptional.

This 250th anniversary feels especially meaningful. It’s not just another birthday—it’s a reminder of how far we’ve come and the bright future we’re called to steward. Whether you’re firing up the grill for hot dogs and hamburgers while watching fireworks light up the Texas sky, or simply pausing to thank God for the blessings of liberty, I hope you’ll join me in celebrating with full hearts.

Let’s keep waving the flag high, teaching our children and grandchildren the real story of America, and living out the values that make this country the greatest on earth.

Also as we enjoy these simple summer pleasures with our families, let’s also remember to support the brave men and women who keep us free. Organizations like Tunnel to Towers, Wounded Warrior Project, and The Independence Fund do incredible work helping our veterans and first responders—providing homes, adaptive equipment, and life-changing support for those who have sacrificed so much. Supporting these organizations and teaching our kids and grandkids to do the same brings a strong sense of patriotism to my heart. In these divided times, coming together to honor and lift up our heroes is one of the most important things we can do as Americans. Every little bit helps us give back to those who gave so much.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful, safe, and deeply patriotic Independence Day!

God Bless the USA for another 250 years!
